Alyssa Ohnmacht, publisher

Born in Aspen, Colo., Alyssa has more than 30 years in the graphic design and newspaper publishing business in Colorado. She's worked with The Aspen Times, the Valley Journal and the Rifle Tribune. Alyssa was also co-owner of two different local advertising agencies, The Design Studio, and Ackerman/Ohnmacht Advertising & Design. Now, Alyssa publishes her two monthly newspapers, The Crystal Valley Echo and The Grand Valley Echo, and produces The Echo Summer and Winter guides that provide seasonal information about the Crystal River Valley.
About the Echoes

The Crystal Valley Echo is publisher Alyssa Ohnmacht's brainchild. She created the super-localized community newspaper in 2002 to provide a forum for readers to share news and stories about the Crystal Valley. Two seasonal information guides – summer and winter versions – followed. Alyssa began publishing The Grand Valley Echo in 2008 when she was asked to start a newspaper similar to The Crystal Valley Echo to serve the communities of Battlement Mesa and Parachute.
Sue McEvoy, staff writer

When she's not volunteering with humanitarian groups in Nepal or conducting tours of the Redstone Castle in Redstone, Sue writes about a range of interesting people and events for the Echo.
